The experiment starts with a game. Here are the instructions:
The first part of the game is hypothetical, whether the resulting payoffs are actually realized, will be decided by the
participants through a vote, which is explained below.
First part:
Together with you, there are 10 players in the game.
Each participant is endowed with 10€. Thus there are 100€ total in the game, evenly divided between all players.
In the first step, 2 players will randomly loose 4€ of their endowment, while the other 8 players will gain 2€ each.
So the payoffs of the players who gained 2€ will be 12€, while the payoffs of the players who lost 4€ will be 6€.
Thus there now are 108€ total in the game but unevenly divided among the players.

Then the players who have gained 2€ can choose how much of their winnings they want to contribute to a common pot.
The common pot will then be divided evenly among the two players who have lost 4€. So the payoffs of the players who gained
2€ will be 12€ minus their conribution to the common pot. The payoffs of the players who lost 4€ will be 6€ plus the
contributions of the common pot divided by 2.
{{endif}}
Second part:
You now have an influence on whether these payoffs are actually realized.
Each player can now decide if and how much of his 10€ endowment he wants to invest for or against this resulting allocation.
If the total amount invested from all players for the resulting allocation is larger than the amount invested against it,
each player will receive the payoff they got in the game in the first part minus their invested amount.
If the total amount invested from all players for the resulting allocation is smaller or equal than the amount invested against it,
each player will receive their starting endowment (10€) minus their invested amount.
