In this experiment, you will have several tasks to measure your 1) cognitive skill, 2) social skill,
and 3) combined skill that requires both cognitive and social skills.
For the cognitive skill, you will have math questions.
For the first 5 minutes, you will have multiple choices questions.
After that, you will have 5 minutes to solve short-answer questions.
For the social skill, you will play 30 games. You will be randomly paired with other participants.
You may be paired with the same participant more than once.
For 20 games, you can chat with your partner.
For half of the cases, you can send any message. For the other half, you can send binary messages (Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down).
For the half of games where you can send any messages (thus totally five games), there will be ¼ chance that you will get an additional 0.5 point for the game.
For the combined skill, you will be randomly paired with other participants. You will solve math problems as a team.
You will play two rounds: Once as a team member and once as a team leader.
The other person you are paired with may change.
Each round will last 5 minutes.
If you are a team member, you will solve the problems.
If you are a team leader, you will grade a member’s answers.
