You will play twelve similar games.
You will be randomly paired with another subject for each game.
You will be assigned as one of a proper or a receiver for each game.
For the first six games, the two of you will together receive 40 or 0 depending on decisions.
For the last six games, the two of you will together receive 30 or 0 depending on decisions.
A proposer will decide how to divide this amount of 40 (30).
A receiver will decide their minimum willingness to accept of the offer.
Suppose the proposer assigns X for themselves,
and 40-X (30-X)for the receiver.
Then the receiver is offered 40 – X (30-X).
If the offer for the receiver, 40-X (30-X), is greater than or equals the receiver's minimum willingness to accept,
the proposer will get X,
and the receiver will get 40-X (30-X).
If 40-X (30-X), is smaller than the receiver's minimum willingness to accept, both will receive 0.
For Game 13, 14, 19, and 20, you and your partner will play without a chat. You will have 15 seconds per game to make a decision.
For the remaining four games, you can chat with your partner. You will have 90 seconds per game to chat and make a decision.
For four games, you can send any messages to your partner.
Your partner can send you Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down
You can send Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down for the remaining four games.
Your partner can send you any messages.
The order of whether you can send any messages or binary messages (Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down) first is random.
For Game 15, 16, 17, 18, if you can send any messages to your partner, you will get additional 0.5 with 1/4 chance.
