Social Skills Test
An applicant played 4 games with another player.
Each game was played first without communicating, then again with communication.
All applicants had the same tasks.
For each game, they were randomly paired with one undergraduate student.
When communication is allowed, there was a 1/4 chance an applicant got an additional 0.5 points by luck.
When they played with communication,
They could send any message to their group member. Their partners could send a binary response, "Thumbs Up" or "Thumbs Down."
Their payoff was decided by both their own choices and the group member's choices.
You will be shown whether they got paid more when they could communicate.
Ideally, applicants with strong social skills would earn more when they can communicate.
Then they played similar 4 games.
Again, they were randomly paired with one undergraduate student.
Each game was played first without communicating, then again with communication.
In both cases there was no chance that an applicant got additional points by luck .
Your job is to guess how their payoff changed with communication for other similar games.
