In this stage, you will perform the task in each round individually. There are 15 rounds in this stage, and 3 steps in each round.
Step 1: At the beginning of each round, you will have access to a Codebook of Actions and Contexts that is unique to your group and different from the other group’s Codebook. Actions are presented across Rows and Contexts are presented across columns. For each Context, there is one correct Action indicated by a tick (✓). A cross (✕) indicates incorrect Actions for a given Context. Correct choices contribute to your Individual Score in this stage.
Click on “View Codebook” button to see the Codebook; it will appear for 3 seconds per click. You are allowed a maximum 5 clicks per round. To enter the next step, please click “Continue” button. Once you click “Continue”, you cannot revisit the codebook. Figure 1 shows an example of a Codebook.
Step 2: In this step, all members of the group will see a Context generated randomly by the computer. Next, you must choose the correct Action for the given Context. Confirm your choice within 10 seconds by pressing the “Confirm” button. You will not know the choices of your group members for the round and they will not know the choice you made for the round. Figure 2 shows an example of a task.
Step 3: Once you confirm your choice, the computer will show the actions chosen by you and indicate whether it was correct (✓) or incorrect (✕).The computer will report total number of ticks accumulated up to that round (maximum 15 ticks in the entire stage). Figure 3 shows the outcome.
