Participation is voluntary
It is your choice whether or not to participate in this research. If you choose to participate, you may change your mind and leave the study at any time. Refusal to participate or stopping your participation will involve no penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled. Participants must be at least 18 years of age.

What is the purpose of this research?
The purpose of this research is to study decision making in economic contexts. You may not be told everything or may be misled: As part of this research design, you may not be told or may be misled about the purpose or procedures of this research. However, the purpose or procedures of the research will be disclosed to you following your participation.

How long will I take part in this research?
Your participation will take at most {{ exp_duration }} minutes to complete.

What can I expect if I take part in this research?
As a participant, you will make sequences of decisions between various choice options. These choice options will have real consequences for you such as a particular monetary reward. You will also complete a questionnaire.

What are the risks and possible discomforts?
If you choose to participate, the effects should be comparable to those you would experience from viewing a computer monitor for 45 minutes and using a mouse or keyboard.

Are there any benefits from being in this research study?
There are no direct benefits to participation.

Will I be compensated for participating in this research?
You will receive {{ participation_fee }} as base payment for participating in this study. You will be able to earn additional money depending on the choices you make during the study. These choices are purely hypothetical. In total, your payment will be at least {{ participation_fee }}.

If I take part in this research, how will my privacy be protected? What happens to the information you collect?
The data we collect will be kept confidential. Your name will never be associated with your decisions. Thus, when you walk out of the experiment, we will not know which decisions you made. We won’t use your name or information that would identify you in any publications or presentations.
