Study Information
In this study, you will be asked to complete multiple decision-making tasks that involve searching for the best option in a list. Your performance in this task will influence your payout in real life.
The experiment will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
You will receive a minimum of 2 Euro to a maximum of 3.5 Euro as compensation for completing this task, of which 1.5 Euro will be given as a fixed payment, and the rest will be rewarded as bonus.
The exact amount of the bonus depends on your decision in the experiment.
Conditions of participation
Participation is completely voluntary.
You can withdraw from the study at any time without stating any reason.
To quit the experiment, exit the browser window and return your submission on Prolific.
If you decide to participate in the experiment, please make sure that you can work undisturbed for the duration of the study and that you read the instructions carefully.
If you do not read the instructions carefully and fail a short test, you will be asked to return your submission without getting any payment.
Additionally, please be aware that clicking through the experiment without understanding the instructions compromises our research.
Possible risks and harms
No risks and harms are known to be caused by this experiment.
There is no deception involved in this study.
All the information presented is truthful to the experimenter's best knowledge.
Confidentiality and anonymity
Your Prolific ID is the only potential identifiable (personal) information in this study.
The personal information you provide for the research will be treated with care and is only accessible to authorized employees.
One month after compensating all the participants in this study, we will delete your Prolific ID from our dataset.
This means that you can request us to delete your research data up to 1 month after all compensations have been paid.
