<p>Since there are four participants in the <span style="color:blue;">second</span> and <span style="color:green;">third row</span>,
    there will be four pairings. You will never know participant identities or which person in the <span style="color:blue;">second</span> is paired with which person in the <span style="color:green;">third row</span>.
    </p>

<p>You will observe all four pairings between a <span style="color:blue;">second-row</span> (<strong><span style="color:blue;">Sender</span></strong>) and a <span style="color:green;">third-row</span> (<strong><span style="color:green;">Responder</span></strong>) participant:</p>
<ul>
    <li>The <strong><span style="color:blue;">Sender</span></strong> is given $10 and may share any portion of it with the <strong><span style="color:green;">Responder</span></strong>.</li>
    <li>Any amount the <strong><span style="color:blue;">Sender</span></strong> shares with the <strong><span style="color:green;">Responder</span></strong> is <strong>tripled</strong> for the <strong><span style="color:green;">Responder</span></strong>.</li>
    <li>The <strong><span style="color:green;">Responder</span></strong> decides how much (if any) of the tripled amount to return to the <strong><span style="color:blue;">Sender</span></strong>.</li>
    <li>Any portion not returned to the <strong><span style="color:blue;">Sender</span></strong> is kept by the <strong><span style="color:green;">Responder</span></strong>.</li>
</ul>
<p>You will be told the amount that each <strong><span style="color:blue;">Sender</span></strong> has shared with their respective <strong><span style="color:green;">Responder</span></strong>.
    <br>Your task is to predict how much each <strong><span style="color:green;">Responder</span></strong> will return (assuming the <strong><span style="color:blue;">Sender</span></strong> shared some portion).</p>
<p><strong>One pair will be randomly selected for payment, where your compensation will depend on how accurately you can predict how much the <strong><span style="color:green;">Responder</span></strong> returns:</strong></p>
<ul>
    <li>Exact prediction → $10 compensation</li>
    <li>Within $1 (above or below) → $8 compensation</li>
    <li>Within $2 → $5 compensation</li>
    <li>Within $3 → $2 compensation</li>
    <li>More than $3 difference → No additional compensation (just your $5 show up fee and $5 participation fee)</li>
</ul>

<p>Participants in the <span style="color:blue;">second</span> and <span style="color:green;">third row</span> will be the first participants paid at the end of the session, and the first to leave to further preserve anonymity.</p>
<p>While you read through these instructions,
    the participants in the <span style="color:green;">third row</span> (<strong><span style="color:green;">Responders</span></strong>)
    will be completing an effort-based task where they can receive additional compensation.</p>
