Thank you for your participation in this research study. For this study, it was important that, for games you just finished, you have received payoff information on each task right before the respective game will begin. Also, you are only informed about your noise level(accuracy) but not other group members. Now that your participation is completed, we will describe the withheld information to you, why it was important, and provide you with the opportunity to decide on whether you would like to have your data included in this study.

The purpose of this study is to see whether individuals are more cooperative if the decision-making process is democratic other than being exogenously imposed. In the experiment, we hope to observe the difference brought by the decision-making procedure of institutional choice itself other than the effect of institutions. We did not let you know the payoff information at the beginning because we hope you make your choice of leaders based solely on the quality of leaders instead of your preference for the game rule. We did not let you know others' noise levels because it will affect your decision-making as you might guess the chance of, you and others, becoming a leader. The noise levels are 50%, 52%, and 48% for your group members.
