Welcome to Playstudies. You have the opportunity to participate in this experimental session.
Please read carefully the following information.
a) INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
The experiment has been designed by Prof. Oana Peia from University College Dublin and Radu Vranceanu from ESSEC Business School. It has been implemented by Playstudies.
Participation in this research study is voluntary. You may refuse to participate or withdraw at any time. Decisions to not-participate or to discontinue your participation will not affect your grades or professional status.
Before the start of the experiment you will read the experiment instructions. Then the experiment will begin. You will be asked to take part in a computer-based task in which you will make decisions. You may ask questions to the investigator at any time by using the Zoom chat. All your decisions will be anonymous.
There are no known risks associated with your participation in this project beyond those of everyday life. Although you will receive no direct benefits, this project may help the researcher to better understand how people make decisions. If you choose to not participate or withdraw participation, you will not lose out on any benefits to which you are otherwise entitled.
You will be offered at least 5€ for your participation. You may be able to earn significantly more by participating, but how much money you earn will largely depend on the decisions you and the other participants make. On average, participants will earn around 12€ per hour of participation (including the show up fee), though you may earn less. The estimated duration of this experiment is 90 minutes.
b) CONFIDENTIALITY OF PERSONAL DATA
Personal data is intended to check the identity and suitability of required profiles along experimental sessions and will be used for recruitment and payment purposes only. Once the experiment is finished all personal data will be deleted. This process is necessary to fulfil the methodological approach of experimental economics and obtain high quality validated results. Researchers undertake to keep the Confidential Information secure and not to disclose it to any third party, including the obligation to establish the appropriate security hardware and software measures.
Playstudies accomplishes all procedures established by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data. Volunteers are entitled to request for access, modifications and cancelation of their own personal data by attaching identificative document to their request, addressed to contact@playstudies.com or Playstudies, Reg:ES48407324Y, Ciscar 24,7 46005 Valencia, Spain.
c) ANONYMITY OF THE RESULTS DERIVATIVE FROM THE DECISIONS
Experiments’ results will be made anonymous. Consequently, behavioural data obtained by decision-makers in the running of the experiment will not be associated to a particular identity. The link between personal data and their decisions will be broken before the start of the experiment.
De-identified data will leave the country and will be available exclusively for the researchers linked to the project to establish conclusions and prepare the associated scientific publications.
PIf there is anything about the study or your participation that is unclear or that you do not understand, or if you have questions or wish to report a research-related problem, you may contact: contact@playstudies.com
