Welcome to the experiment! Please familiarize yourself with the illustration below. For this experiment, you are paired with a randomly chosen participant, who from now on will be referred to as Player 1. You are Player 2.

Player 1 is at the top at point "P". He is going to decide whether to play "A" or "B". The first number in each bracket indicates his payout and the second number reflects your payout. From the point of view of player 1, A is the safe option, where he can get 10 euros without any risk. With this choice from player 1, you cannot influence the outcome of the game and would get 10 euros as well. If he chooses B, point "A" is reached and it is your turn to decide between playing cooperatively (choose "1") or not (choose "2"). You decide over the final payouts: Either 15 for you and 15 for player 1, or 22 for you and 8 for player 1.
