<b> Allocation Decisions </b>
</p>

<p>
  In each period, after receiving their endowment, each participant will need to decide how much of her/his endowment to allocate to the <b>team account</b> and how much to keep in her/his <b>private account</b>.
  For each point a participant keeps in her/his private account, s/he earns 1 point. For each point s/he allocates to the team account, it will be multiplied by her/his team’s multiplier factor and then divided equally among all the members in her/his team.
</p>
<p>
  Note the number of team members may vary across periods since people may decide to switch teams. Therefore, the multiplier factor is determined by the number of people in the team, as specified in the following table:

Thus, your payoff in each period is calculated as:

<p><b><em>payoff = points in Private Account + Per Person Payoff from Team Account</em></b></p>
<p>
  Take a 4-person team as an example. For each point a participant keeps, s/he earns 1 point.
  For each point contributed to the team account, every participant in the team (including the person who contributes it) will earn 0.438 points — <b>per-person return</b>,
  which is the team’s multiplier factor 1.750 divided by the number of team members 4.
  That is, every point someone allocates to the team account will lead to a total of 1.750 points for the team and, as a result, bring <b>everyone</b> in this team 0.438 points.
</p>
<p>
  Similarly, in a 3-person team, every point someone allocates to the team account will lead to a total of 1.5 points for the team and bring everyone in this team 0.5 points.
  In a 5-person team, every point allocated to the team account will lead to a total of 2 points for the team and bring everyone in this team 0.4 points.
</p>
