At the UN Climate Change Conference 2021 in Glasgow, India pledged to reduce it's carbon dioxide emissions by
1 billion tons until the year 2030 compared to a business-as-usual scenario. According to the Centre
for Science and Environment's projections, India's emissions in a business-as-usual scenario would be 4.48
billion tons in 2030.
This means that India has effectively set a goal to cut its emissions by 22% compared to the
business-as-usual scenario.
To which extent do you agree or disagree with the following statements?
The promise of India to reduce emissions by 22% compared to a business-as-usual scenario by 2030 exceeded my expectations regarding the amount of climate policy action that India is ready to promise.

If India achieved its goal of reducing emissions by 22% to a business-as-usual scenario by 2030, this would be a huge contribution to the fight against climate change.
