The primary demographic of Tumblr creators is hipsters, and there's nothing hipsters like reading about more than hipsters. Hence the creation of Unhappy Hipsters, which takes photographs from cool design mags like Dwell and adds on New Yorker-style captions to point out the essential ennui of the hipster world. And, of course, they already sold out and got a book deal.
