From the days of villainous Krauts like Fritz Von Erich to the present, wrestling has never been shy about using racism, jingoism and xenophobia to pop a crowd. Prepare now to experience some of the genre's most egregious examples - just don't tell the NAACP, you namby-pamby college boy.

Saba Simba

You guys remember Tony Atlas, right? Three-time Mr. USA winner, one of the first black WWF Tag Team Champions (along with Rocky Johnson), and all-around popular wrestling face known to fans as the "Black Superman."

But for some reason, WWE (then WWF) didn't want a black guy bedecked in American flags running a patriotic face gimmick in 1991. The solution was obvious: Turn Atlas into an Ugandan warrior named Saba Simba, who looked like an extra from a regional touring production of The Lion King.
