Believe it or not, if you slowed down LOST's pilot you'd actually see the ludicrously terrifying stuffed polar bear launched from an air cannon at Sawyer before J.J. Abrams caved and agreed to the CG polar bear more commonly known. Still, laughable or not, the presence of the polar bear became an iconic moment for the series, introducing the more mysterious aspects of the Island's nature, even if they were never really resolved.
