Yeah, just like everyone else, we wish the films of the original trilogy were available in their untampered-with forms and not just as the Special Editions, but we also know that that's barely worth mentioning at this point. It's Star Wars, and it's on Blu-ray, and it's awesome. And here are the special features awaiting you when you sit down on Sept. 16 and return to a galaxy far, far away...

Star Wars Blu-ray FAQ: Deleted Scenes

The real cherry on top of the Blu-ray box set is the collection of deleted, alternate and extended scenes from the original trilogy. You may have already seen a bootleg of the alternate opening to Return of the Jedi featuring a brooding Luke fashioning a new lightsaber in the caves of Tatooine, but now you can own it -- in HD, at that!

Details on the other deleted scenes are being kept sort of under wraps, though you can get a glimpse of what's in store with this sneak peek that features footage from the much-discussed Tatooine sandstorm in A New Hope, the Rebel base Wampa attack in The Empire Strikes Back and some extended scenes from the Endor bunker assault in Return of the Jedi.
