Dirty Details Done Dirt Cheap:
Ororo Munroe, the daughter of a Kenyan princess orphaned when her parents were killed in a terrorist bombing, was worshipped in her adolescence as a goddess. Although she was briefly a master pickpocket on the streets of Cairo, Storm used her powers to help her community, making sure they never fell victim to famine (or poor weather). Going from Cairo to the plains of the Serengeti to Xavier's School for the Gifted, Ororo has always wanted a place that she could truly call home, a desire that often manifests itself in frequently adjusting her physical appearance in the hopes that she might come upon a community that will finally embrace her without exception. Only Storm could pull off a leather vest and a mohawk (as she did in the mid-'80s); it also takes a special lady to pull off her trademark white hair and black leather.
