Kind, loyal, brilliant and brave, Major Samantha Carter is an accomplished astrophysicist and graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. She is the world's leading expert on the Stargate, responsible for deciphering the device's address system and designing the dialing computer. Upon the initiation of the Stargate program, Samantha was assigned to S.G.C. and made second-in-command of Colonel Jack O'Neill's SG-1 team. The Stargate is Samantha's life's work, and she devotes most if not all of her time to it. A few of her adventures during her tenure with SG-1 include being possessed by an alien entity (Jolinar of Malkshur), flying in an interstellar race, meeting herself in an alternate reality and being sold into slavery.
