Sam was one of several rogue operatives assembled by the beautiful Deirdre to attack a heavily armed convoy and steal a mysterious briefcase therein. From there, it's all about the shootouts, car chases and double-crosses, with Sam even taking a bullet at one point and toughing it out in a rather infamous surgery scene that redefines the term "macho" (and "acting histrionics," at that). No one is who or what they seem to be in the world of Ronin, and you can bet Sam has a secret (or two or three) that will be (more or less) revealed before the entire international incident has resolved itself - or at least been buried under the rug.
