Professional assassin Agent 47 is assigned to kill the Russian president, an assignment he completes with his usual grace and efficiency. However, 47 soon discovers there was a witness to the hit, a prostitute named Nika Boronina. From there, 47 and Nika form an uneasy alliance as they discover the Russian president's death has been covered up - a double is now playing the part, and 47 is now targeted for death by his own people. The two race around the globe, dodging various double-crosses, secrets and lies, pausing only to engage in Nika's would-be seduction of the assassin in a hotel room, which ends with 47 knocking her unconscious (why, sir, why?). Eventually, Agent 47 helps Nika realize her childhood dream of owning a vineyard.
