Millie Harris was the childhood sweetheart of David Rice, a "jumper" who discovered his ability to teleport after falling through the ice in an attempt to retrieve Millie's beloved snow globe. David leaves his hometown of Ann Arbor, Michigan shortly thereafter to use his powers to live the luxurious life of a thief and playboy but is reunited with Millie several years later. Millie agrees to accompany David on an impromptu trip to Rome, where the two become lovers, but Millie soon discovers her new boyfriend is a bit complicated - especially with a secret society known as the Templars determined to kill him and all others like him. Millie ultimately decides to stand by her man and ends up having the adventure of a lifetime.
