Melissa and her boyfriend Bobby were en route to Las Vegas to get hitched, with Melissa's sister Kayla and her punk boyfriend Nik along for the ride. When their 1983 Chevy Caprice wagon breaks down in the desert, they come across a 1971 Chevy Chevelle at a seemingly abandoned house. As the sweet ride is in working order and no one seems to be around, they take the vehicle and continue their journey, an act which prompts a downward spiral into terror as they run afoul of a psychotic truck driver that goes by the name of Rusty Nail. Nik and Kayla are killed and Bobby is kidnapped, leaving it up to Melissa to save the day and run this psycho off the road once and for all.
