Kyle Reese was born after the artificial intelligence defense system known as Skynet went online and subsequently wiped out most of the planet's human population. As a child, Reese was captured by Skynet and forced to work in their human concentration camps. He was rescued by John Connor, leader of the Human Resistance, and eventually served under John's command at Tech-Com. After a Terminator is sent back in time from 2029 to 1984 to assassinate Connor's mother, Sarah, before her son is even born, Reese is sent back to protect her. While in 1984, Reese becomes Sarah's lover - and the father of the very man who will one day send him back in time! Reese is ultimately killed while battling the Terminator - Sarah avenges the death of her man by terminating it, taking her first step in becoming the badass survivalist warrior-woman that will mother the leader of the Human Resistance against the machines.
