The former White Queen of the Hellfire Club and subsequent instructor of the now-defunct Hellions, Emma Frost came to Professor Xavier and the X-Men hoping to gain penance for her very sketchy past and the loss of all of her students. Her assimilation into her former rivals wasn't exactly an easy one - on top of being regarded as still dangerous and not to be trusted, she quickly became "the other woman" as she started a psychic and eventual physical relationship with Cyclops. She is armed with an incredible intelligence, epic mental powers and a surgically-enhanced body reminiscent of a porn star. In X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Emma is revealed to be the younger sister of Kayla Silverfox and has the mutant power to turn her skin into diamond.
