Alma Moore is the neurotic and mysteriously secretive wife of Elliot Moore, a high school math teacher in Philadelphia. Alma always seems distracted and suspicious, often receiving random text messages that fill her with a sense of guilt and unease. It's going to take an epidemic of mass suicides seemingly inspired by angry plant life to save this marriage, as Alma comes clean to her husband about her fears about being a wife and confesses she went on something of a "date" with another man. As the epidemic ends, seemingly by the couple's rekindled love, Elliot and Alma have an adopted daughter and Alma is pregnant.
