Agent 47, named for the last three numbers of the barcode tattooed on the back of his head (640509-040147), is a genetically enhanced clone, a perfectly engineered killing machine created by the "Five Fathers," criminal masterminds who contributed their own DNA to the project. Agent 47 endured 30 years of relentless training under the tutelage of one of the Five Fathers, Dr. Otto Wolfgang Ort-Mayer, and is proficient in a countless number of weapons and fighting styles. Agent 47 currently works for the International Contract Agency, an organization that provides various mercenary services - he is calm and efficient, polite and reserved, and rarely seen without his trademark black Italian suit, black leather gloves and red tie. In the movie adaptation of Hitman, Agent 47's origin is somewhat different, with the clone storyline dropped and the International Contract "Organization" (rather than "Agency") specializing in training orphans, misfits and social rejects into branded killers - of which Agent 47 is the best of the best.
