This one is a vehicle that has seen some tough times - the X-Men's jet has been blown up more than just about any other ride in comics. The Blackbird, loosely modeled on the SR-71 spy plane built by Lockheed in the late 60s at their Skunk Works facility. The Blackbird is a bit bigger than the real-world plane (which can only carry one person), and it's been tricked out with Shi'ar technology including a ruby quartz windshield that Cyclops can focus his optic blasts through.
