Comic-Con 2011: The Dark Knight Rises Poster Rises!

The official poster for The Dark Knight Rises has surfaced and shows there is something terribly wrong with Gotham. This can't be the doing of Bane could it?

When we first glanced at the poster for The Dark Knight Rises it was so high-res that we didn’t even get the gag. Take a step back, though, and you’ll see why Nolan and company continue to be the best at what they do. They’ve taken popcorn pictures and elevated them to high art.

So, after a deep breath, the mind has time to reel. WHAT THE HECK IS HAPPENING TO GOTHAM CITY?!?!? Why are the buildings crumbling? And why is it so cloudy? (Is this a subtle reference that it might rain, and we’ll get a surprise visit from the Penguin? No, of course not, you dope!)

It’s long been accepted that The Dark Knight Rises will make no panel or presentation appearance at Comic-Con, but if someone is there handing out limited edition prints you can expect a full-on bat-riot.
