Aang was twelve years old when his Airbending master, Monk Gyasto, informed him that he would grow up to become the Avatar. With war brewing between the Fire Nation and the rest of the world, Aang ran away on his flying bison Appa, only to be caught in a massive storm and swallowed up by the sea.
The live-action The Last Airbender may gloss over some of the details, but we know the plot won't be too different. Aang does end up frozen in a gigantic iceberg for 100 years after all!
