Comedy isn't pretty, and nobody illustrates that fact quite like Jim Carrey. We all loved his manic improvisations on In Living Color, but what's funny in a three minute sketch in between Fly Girls transforms into monstrously grating at movie length. The Mask was fun and funny, the Ace Ventura movies were dumb trash, and then Jim - well, Jim went crazy.

The Number 23 shows exactly what happens when a comedian goes the wrong direction - this psychological thriller directed by Joel Schumacher is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, with a completely muddled plotline and a horrendous lead performance by the increasingly insane Carrey.
