In Jordan Mechner's original Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the titular character was simply known as "The Prince."

For the live-action version, the writer's have given the Prince a name, Dastan, a British accent, and a recognizable face - famed-Persian actor Jake Gyllenhaal.  Fans should breathe a big sigh of relief - they nailed the hair!  You know you were worried.
