The first time that the two worlds of Brazil collide is when Sam, visiting the widow of a man who has been tortured to death as a result of a typo, meets his upstairs neighbor Jill Layton. He's shocked to discover that she's a dead ringer for the woman in his dreams, but while the dreamgirl is a helpless, passive princess, Layton is a tough, combat boot-wearing truck driver who has no time for Sam's shenanigans.
