Whereas the first Evil Dead fell solidly on the horror side of the line, Sam Raimi's sequel decided to amp up the absurdity and become a full-on horror comedy. Bruce Campbell is back as Ash Williams, trapped in that same ol' creepy cabin from the first movie. But this time, he doesn't have any recollection of what happened there before, so when the Necronomicon starts bringing up the dead to torment Ash and his girl, it's all-out zombie-smashing time. Insane effects, ludicrous situations and buckets of blood make Evil Dead II a horror comedy classic.
