Who on earth could say something like, "This guy here, lemme tell you about this guy, oh man, this guy" with a glib point and smiley nod of the head, and get people to pay $12 to buy a movie ticket to see what else he has to say? Adam Sandler, that's who. Almost anything this dude does is freakin' funny, man. He often doesn't SEEM like he should be funny, but he just IS somehow, like he got freaky powers and used them just to make us laugh when he does the most unassuming things. I am jealous and want his career.

He got his start as an assortment of pantomiming characters on MTV's Remote Control, and his act never ever got old. He became so popular on Saturday Night Live with characters like Opera Man and the low-budget Halloween costume guy, that his coworkers complained that SNL became the Adam Sandler show. Soon after hitting it huge with Billy Madison, the most preposterous movie that was insanely better than it would have been starring any other human, Sandler established his leading man and film writer status in Hollywood. Hit after hit like Happy Gilmore and The Waterboy showed people he could do almost anything he put his mind to, and soon he was starring with actors like Jack Nicholson in Anger Management and Burt Reynolds in . Now, with You Don't Mess with the Zohan, Sandler is confirming his status as the guy who can make absolutely any movie he wants, and it's gonna be a hilarious movie because he sneezed near it.
