Shujinko first appeared in Mortal Kombat: Deception, as one of the game's good guys. As a young boy, he longed to fight the evil Shang Tsung, eventually traveling the realms and learning many fighting styles along the way. He has absorbed the powers of characters such as Liu Kang, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero.
