The fallen elder god Shinnok first appeared in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero as the game's final boss. He then became playable in Mortal Kombat 4. Shinnok was banished to the Netherealm for committing crimes against the Elder Gods, including Raiden.
