Some 1980s action knockoffs could only find work as villains because their extreme faces were too weird for hero work. Stallone doesn't count.
Brian Thompson's rock face, for instance, dictated that he only play bad guys, but he's still cut from the same cloth as guys like Swarzenegger and Lundgren. Most of us first met him as the main bad guy in Stallone's Cobra, but he also played a bug-eating vampire in the not-completely-horrible Fright Night II. These days, he looks more like Brian Blessed than an action star, but in his heyday he was pretty scary.
