It has come to our attention that some HPNA members have received emails with an HPNA logo soliciting donations to fund an individual patient's healthcare expenses. Unfortunately, this is the result of a "phishing" scam, which is a deceptive attempt to obtain money and financial information by posing as a legitimate charity.
Do not respond or donate to such emails.
None of our affiliated organizations, the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA), the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center (HPCC), or the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation (HPNF) solicit donations of any kind on behalf of individual patients.
HPNA and HPCC do not solicit individual donations of any kind.
HPNF is a charitable organization and does solicit donations, which are used to support professional development of hospice and palliative nurses through HPNF's program of scholarships, grants, and awards. HPNF does not use external funding websites (such as GoFundMe or Fundly) to solicit or collect funds, and never solicits donations on behalf of individuals.
Please inform the national office at 412.787.9301 or
hpna@hpna.org if you receive any emails from HPNA, HPCC, or HPNF that you suspect are not legitimate.
Thank you!
