To create a service requests using SQL data resources, you must connect Nexaweb Studio to at least one database.
You can connect Nexaweb Studio to a database before you begin creating the service request or can do so simultaneously while adding the service request.
To connect Nexaweb Studio to a database, follow these steps:
1. Open the Nexaweb Data perspective: select Window > Open Perspective > Nexaweb Data from the list of perspectives.
The Nexaweb Data perspective includes the follow views:

2. In the Data Source Explorer view, right click on Databases and select New.
A New Connection Profile wizard dialog appears, displaying a list of connection profile types.
3. Click on a connection profile type and click Next.
A Create Connection Profile dialog appears.
4. Complete the Create Connection Profile dialog as follows:

Name: Specify a name to identify this connection. Description: Optionally, specify a description of this connection. Auto-connect: Optionally, click the check box beside Auto-connect . . . for Nexaweb Studio to automatically open this connection when you open the Nexaweb Data perspective. |
Click Next.
A Specify a driver and Connection Details dialog appears.
5. Complete the Specify a driver and Connection Details dialog as follows:

Select a driver from the drop-down: Click - Click on the appropriate version and click Add. - Click + beside the version to expand the list. - Select a driver type and click OK. - Click Add Jar/Zip. - Locate the appropriate JAR/Zip file for this driver in the database directory, select it and click Open. - Delete any JAR/Zip files from the pick list that do not specify a path to the selected file. - Click OK to return to the Specify a Driver Template and Definition Name dialog. Database: Specify the name of the database on your system to which to connect. URL: Nexaweb Studio automatically populates this field based on the database name and driver definition type. You may need to edit the URL to specify the name of the database. User name/Password: Specify the name and password of a user configured to access this database. User name/Password: Click the Save Password check box for Nexaweb Studio to store the user password. |
6. Click Finish.
Nexaweb Studio creates the connection.
7. Click + beside Databases in the Data Source Explorer view to see the database you added.
