Configuring Palette Settings for All Drawers

You can specify how all palette drawers display content by configuring the palette settings.

To configure palette settings for all drawers, right click on any drawer title bar or anywhere in a drawer and select Settings. The Palette Settings dialog appears similar to the following:

Note: Palette settings affect all drawers.

Font: Specifies the font style that the workbench uses to display text in the palette.

Layout: Specifies how to display the palette contents as follows:

  • Columns - displays the components in a series of columns. The number of columns varies depending on the size of the palette view.

  • List - displays the names and icons of each of the components in a single column.

  • Icons displays component icons only.

  • Details - displays name, icon, and brief description of each component.

Drawer Options: Specifies how the palette displays drawers:

  • Always close when opening another drawer displays one drawer only at a time.

  • Close automatically when there is not enough room makes room for the most recently selected drawer to display by closing a previously opened drawer, if not enough room exists to display both drawers.

  • Never close makes room in palette to accommodate all open drawers without closing any.
