Division III members will vote on nine proposals at the 2017 NCAA Convention next week in Nashville, Tennessee. Delegates will decide whether to implement a policy that ensures providers have autonomous, unchallengeable authority for medical decisions regarding student-athletes and whether graduate and post-baccalaureate students with remaining eligibility will be able to compete at the school of their choice, among other proposals. The voting will take place at the Division III business session, which begins at 8 a.m. Jan. 21.
The Division III Issues Forum will begin at 8 a.m. Jan. 20. There, members will have an opportunity to participate in question-and-answer sessions with members of the Division III Presidents Council and NCAA Sport Science Institute staff, in addition to discussing this year’s legislation in detail.
Convention attendees also will have access to educational sessions regarding the role of senior woman administrators, human resource issues and developing departmental handbooks, among other topics. Click here for more information regarding Division III activities at this year’s Convention.
