Coaches' Code of Conduct

1.  I shall strive to teach in a constructive manner and use every opportunity to develop good character as well as technical skills. 

2.  I shall place the emotional and physical well-being of the players ahead of any personal drive to win. 

3.  I shall comply with all rules, regulations, and policies of Trumansburg Travel Baseball and the league.

4.  I shall set an example of good sportsmanship for my players and never deliberately incite, condone, or participate in any form of unsportsmanlike conduct. 

5.  I shall emphasize team play to my players, and remind them that winning is a result of teamwork and cooperation. 

6.  I shall always make safety of players and others a top priority. 

7.  I shall not use abusive or profane language at any time.  

8.  I shall not verbally abuse or criticize players in front of others, but reserve constructive coaching for later, in private (or in the presence of team members if others might benefit). 

9.  I shall not criticize, belittle, or antagonize an opposing team, its players, coaches, or fans by word of mouth or by gesture. 

10.  I shall act respectfully toward game officials, umpires, and administrators; I shall protest their decisions (if necessary) only in a civilized manner. 

11.  I shall be jointly responsible with game officials or umpires for the control of the teams and spectators. 

12.  I shall not smoke or use any form of tobacco on the practice or playing field or in the presence of the team. 

13.  I shall not possess or drink alcoholic beverages in the presence of the team, or use any illegal substance.

14.  I understand that any violation of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action (including suspension or termination of coaching privileges) at the sole discretion of the Trumansburg Travel Baseball Board of Directors.
