The slated two (2) hour documentary is based on the creative, language-arts teaching methodologies of the retired Georgia Educator/Librarian, highlighting her 25-year teaching accomplishments and first African American Librarian at Atlanta's Margaret Mitchell Elementary school. During this highly racial, civil rights period, Atlanta's Board of Education, under the leadership of, President Dr. Benjamin E. Mays, engaged local and state leaders to offset the devastating effects of segregation by integrating Margaret Mitchell elementary (located within Atlanta's most affluent Jewish communities). ABE's integrating prototype became the blueprint for Georgia's entire public school systems.
A Historical Dimension In Creative Learning...researches Eula Branham's history of family educators, including late Grandfather Levi "Boisey" Branham, whose 1929 published book, "My Life & Travels", documents his life as a former slave turned educator, and teaching hundreds of slaves to read and write during the 1900's. Commemorating profiles feature former Morehouse College President/Atlanta Board of Education Chairman, Dr. Benjamin E. Mays, and "Gone With The Wind" Pulitzer Prize Literary Author/Philanthropist, Margaret M. Mitchell. Principle On-Camera guests include Ingrid Saunders-Jones, VP, Corp.
