This movie was a fictional story about the events, and the reason for the ride is not accurate. She had actually done it on a dare to force her husband to ease the tax burden on the people, and she succeeded in that. The film concocts an excuse about her proving that the people will be loyal.
This movie is ignored now, because it's just a routine medieval adventure drama. But this has to have historical cinematic value.
Really ... it's only for historical purposes.
It's not nudity. After all it was 1955, not 1969 with Kim Novak.
