En vecka före jul landar Estelle Svensson på Arlanda. För ett år sen flydde hon hals över huvud tillsammans med sin man Tommy och deras dotter, efter att Tommy deltog i ett av de största rånen någonsin i svensk kriminalhistoria. Polisen misstänker att Tommy är död, men Estelle söker upp Tommys forna kumpaner och berättar att Tommy är på väg hem. Han vill ha sin del av rånbytet nu. Ryktet sprider sig som en löpeld genom Stockholms undre värld. Om Tommy kommer hem, kommer stan att explodera. Och om han inte kommer... kan något ännu värre hända.
