เรื่องย่อ
เหวิน ชายหนุ่มหน้าใสใจซื่อ เจ้าของสวนผักบนดอยในอำเภอเล็กๆ ของภาคเหนือ ที่จับพลัดจับผลู ต้องแต่งงานกับพลอยหญิงสาวที่ทั้งสวยและหุ่นดี และเป็นที่หมายปองของหนุ่มเล็กหนุ่มใหญ่ในหมู่บ้าน แต่เหวินสังเกตว่า พลอยมีบุคลิคที่เงียบขรึมและพูดจาน้อย เหมือนมีอะไรบางอย่างในใจ งานแต่งเป็นไปอย่างเรียบง่ายตามประเพณี จนเวลาร่วงเลย เจ้าบ่าว-เจ้าสาว ส่งแขกกลับจนหมด และถึงเวลาส่งตัวเข้าห้องหอ ทั้ง 2 คน ต่างเหน็ดเหนื่อยจากงาน จึงหลับไป
เมื่อนาฬิกาตีระฆังส่งสัญญาณเป็นเวลาเที่ยงคืน เหวิน สะดุ้งตื่นขึ้นมาด้วยความตกใจเพราะเสียงอะไรบางอย่างที่ผิดปกติ บนเตียง ร่างของพลอยทะลึ่งตัวขึ้นมานั่ง จ้องมาที่เหวินตาเขม็ง ใบหน้าพลอยเปลี่ยนไปกลายเป็นใบหน้าที่เหมือนไม่ใช่คน นัยน์ตาสีดำสนิท เหมือนพวกแวมไพร์ที่เหวินเคยเห็นในหนัง ผิวหน้าและเนื้อตัวบางส่วนมีรอยข่วน และมีเลือดออกซิบๆ พลอยเอ่ยคำพูดเป็นภาษาแปลกๆ ที่ เหวินฟังไม่ออก เหวิน รู้ได้ในทันทีว่า เค้าได้เจอกับฝันร้ายเข้าแล้ว และการผจญภัยเพื่อหาวิธีรักษาและหาต้นกำเนิดของเรื่องร้ายๆนี้ก็ได้เริ่มต้นขึ้น การเดินทางที่ทำให้ความรักของทั้ง 2 คนเบ่งบาน พร้อมกับเสียงหัวเราะและเสียงหวีดร้อง ในทุกๆ 4 ทุ่ม...
