We Collect Limited Information with Our Applications

 

When you download and use our mobile applications for children, we collect the following information:

 

(i) non-personal information about the duration the mobile application is used and how it is used, such as the screens viewed and actions taken within the mobile applications, which is used solely to enhance and improve our applications.

 

(ii) crash reports - debug information that will help us identify and resolve the root cause of any crashes that make it to a public build.

 

(iii) feedback - we allow parents to provide feedback. While providing feedback, you can optionally add your email id so that we can get back to you about your feedback and support you. We use this email id and other Support Information only for the support for the internal operations of our website and apps.

(iv) We may collect personal data when a parent creates an account in Monster Math 1, makes a purchase, subscribes to a newsletter or alert, or requests technical support. This data may include a name (screen or nickname), email address, telephone number, and payment information. This information may be used to provide services to you, to process and fulfill your orders, to contact parents about their orders and new services and features and to send push notifications if consent to receive them has been given. If you contact us for help we will only use your email address to reply to your question.

Parents or teachers can choose to unsubscribe from such emails at any point and ask us to delete their email id from their database by contacting us via our support email id, support@makkajai.com.

(v) Makkajai may also use third parties from time to time to deliver a service to parents only, such as payment processing, sending emails, infrastructure and IT services, or helping with customer or technical support. We only work with companies that follow this privacy policy and agree not to use your information for any other purposes. If you’d like more information on this, please contact us at support@makkajai.com.

(vi) Makkajai may use parent’s personal information to send newsletters or offers related to their products and services via e-mail, SMS, apps or social media, if the parent has opted into receiving these communications. If the User no longer wishes to receive newsletters or offers they can always, free of charge, contact Makkajai’s customer service department to opt out, or opt out through the marketing messages received from Makkajai.

Information we collect from Parents

We collect the following data from parents who register for an account when using our Monster Maths 1 app.

We collect the following data from teachers who register for an account when using our Monster Math 1 app.  

Teachers add students by providing a student’s first name, last name initial and grade only.

Information we collect from Students

Makkajai collects a student’s first name and last initial. Students are not required to provide any personal information to access the service. Students enter a unique classroom code provided by their teacher to access the service or login with their existing Google or Clever account.

Children’s data - We Comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act

Our website and mobile applications comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 in violation of COPPA, and if in the event that a user identifies himself or herself as a child under the age of 13 through a support request, we will not collect, store or use, and will delete in a secure manner, any personal information of such user.


We Comply with GDPR

We collect minimal personally identifiable information from parents on our website or our apps, only if they volunteer.   We do not show third-party advertisements.  

The User has the right to demand access to their own data, rectification of deficient personal data and deletion of unnecessary personal data by writing to us at support@makkajai.com.

For a GDPR compliant version of the apps, please ensure you download or update to the most current version of our apps.

Service Providers

Makkajai uses the service providers detailed below in our apps. These service providers collect non-personal and limited personal information solely for the purposes described below. These service providers do not share user personal information with any other third parties.  

Makkajai does not collect any personal information from children/students. If you have any questions or concerns about our privacy practices related to children, or if you would like more information about these service providers, please contact support@makkajai.com.

If you are a parent or guardian and would like to review, access or have your child’s information deleted, please contact us at support@makkajai.com

A Word About What We Might Disclose

As you can see, we collect minimal personal data, and some non personal data for internal use only or in conjunction with third parties to help us operate, analyze, and improve our sites and services.

In addition, we may disclose your personal or non personal information to additional parties if we believe we are required to by law, by a judicial proceeding, to protect Makkajai’s rights and properties, or to investigate fraud, intellectual property infringement, and any other conduct that might be illegal or expose Makkajai or a user of its services to legal liability. In addition, Makkajai may disclose information collected from a parent in the event of a change or proposed change in the ownership of the company; for example, a sale, a merger, or bankruptcy.

We do not disclose your personal information with any other third party for the purpose of the third party’s direct marketing purposes.

Third Party Advertisements


We do not show any third party advertisements, contextual or otherwise.

 

When You Request Support, You May Send Us Email

We allow users to contact us if they have support questions about use of our mobile applications. If you submit a support request, we may receive your email address and other information you provide related to your support request (“Support Information”). We use Support Information only for the support for the internal operations of our website and Apps as provided under Section 312.2 of the COPPA rules effective July 1, 2013.

 

A Note about Push Notifications

For our iOS applications, we may send push notifications if the user or a parent/guardian on behalf of the user opts in to receive them. Apple’s push notification process automatically provides us with a token which is identified to a specific device, enabling notifications to be sent to that device through Apple’s push notification service. The token is used only to send push notifications. The token is not disclosed and is not used for any other purpose or combined with any other information. We send push notifications to communicate information about how to interact with our applications. Notifications can be turned off through the “Notifications” tab within iOS “Settings.”

For our Android applications, we may send push notifications if the user or a parent/guardian on behalf of the user opts in to receive them. Google’s push notification process automatically provides us with a token which is identified to a specific device, enabling notifications to be sent to that device through Google’s push notification service. The token is used only to send push notifications. The token is not disclosed and is not used for any other purpose or combined with any other information. We send push notifications to communicate information about how to interact with our applications. Notifications can be turned off through the “Sound and Notification” tab within Android “Settings.”

Data Retention

Makkajai will retain personal data collected for as long as necessary to provide the services or as long as the user account is active. We may also retain and use your personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations. We do not retain your information for any other purposes. Data is not used to contact or build a profile of the child or used for behavioral advertising.

Security Practices

Makkajai strives to protect the security, confidentiality, and integrity of the personal information we collect from children and adults. We have put in place industry standard physical, electronic, and administrative procedures to safeguard and to help prevent unauthorized access to and maintain the security of personal information collected through our services. This information is maintained on secure servers and is accessible to authorized personnel only.

However, no method of transferring information/data over the internet or storing electronic information/data is entirely secure, so while we strive to use reasonable means to protect your personal information / data, we cannot guarantee security against all threats. For additional information about the security measures we use in connection with the services and our practices in the event of a data breach, please contact us at support@makkajai.com.

When you visit our website, we may send cookies to your device that uniquely identify your browser. We may provide links and/or connections to third-party web sites or services from our website (we don’t allow third-party links within our mobile applications). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third-party sites.

We do provide a rate-us link within the app, but only for users passing an age-gate. Clicking this links to the app store, but no third-party website.
 

We may provide links and/or connections to third-party partner apps - but only for users passing an age-gate, only kid-friendly apps, and they will be clearly marked as an ad.

Changes to this Privacy Policy
 

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Use of information we collect is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is collected. If we make changes in the way we use your email address, we will notify you in advance of posting by email. Such modifications will become effective on the date set forth in the email.
