The plan was to have the shed walls sitting directly on the joists with floor boards also sitting on the joists, but fitting inside the shed walls.
Building a large shed is a straight forward job even for a beginner, if the right plans, tools and woodworking techniques are used. Top Tip: Using two top plates is not compulsory, but it will most certainly increase the rigidity of the frame and the durability of the shed.

You can add valuable storage space to your garden by building any kind of shed, but if you want a construction with an unique design, a shed with a saltbox roof might fit your needs. Adjust the size of the shed, but use the same woodworking technique described in this project.
First of all, you need to cut the plates and the studs to the right size, using the free diagrams.
Place the studs in the same manner as describe above and secure them to the plates with screws or nails. Building a large shed (12×16) is a great project, if you need a huge storage surface in your backyard. As you can notice in the plans, you should place the studs equally spaced and secure them to the plates with 3” screws.
As you can see in the image, you should just fit them from the ground and lay them into place, making sure the bottom plate is flush with the exterior edges of the floor.
Therefore, we recommend you to check if all the components are installed properly into place. Moreover, if you design the shed with wide double door, you can even deposit a large garden tractor or other large items. Taking into account this project is about a light construction, we recommend you to lay the floor frame on several 4×4 skids.

Although the constructions techniques are similar to building other sheds, you should be aware that the wall frames and the trusses are heavier, thus harder to install into place.
Pre-drill the bottom and top plates before driving in the 3” galvanized screws into the studs.
Draw the rafter layout (shed plans blueprints) onto the top plates and ridge board, using 16″ on-center spacing.
Position each tie next to a pair of rafters as shown in the shed blueprints 8×12 FRAMING ELEVATIONS.
Facenail each tie end to the rafter with three 10d nails, then toenail each tie end to the top wall plate with two 8d nails.5.
Install the hinges and hang the door, using shims to set the gaps at the bottom and top of each door of the shed.8. Determine the best slope for the ramp using boards or plywood set on the ground and the shed floor.
