Every March, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics sponsors National Nutrition Month® to provide nutrition education and information to the public. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recommends you fill half your plate with fruits and vegetables and you eat two cups of fruit and two and a half cups of vegetables daily. Keep whole fruits available and in sight so that everyone can easily grab something on-the-go. Keep frozen vegetables in your freezer so that you can steam or stir-fry them quickly for a side dish.


Add grated, shredded or chopped vegetables such as zucchini, spinach and carrots to lasagna, meat loaf, mashed potatoes, pasta sauce and rice dishes.
